By Angele Kedaitiene. Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, whose inauguration foreseen on 12 of July, Friday, has announced on Wednesday his team, in particular that Alge Budryte, who led his presidential election campaign headquarters, will be in charge of his chancellery.
Who is Alge Budryte? Pretty known young woman, especially in the baking industry, also in the media sector of Lithuania. On her Linkedin profile, she presents herself as a “business-savvy executive with a proven professional experience of more than 15 years in the banking industry and recently in the fintech industry, demonstrated ability to deliver mission-critical results, extensive leadership and management experience, customer-oriented mindset, international background and strong public relations skills”. She has been working as Gitanas Nauseda campaign manger as from September 2018. Earlier she has worked as CEO of International Fintech joint stock company, as head of Private baking in Swedbank, as deputy CEO of media outlet 15 min., as deputy chief economist of SEB bank, as senior analyst at Lithuanian bank, etc. She has education in international business and economics from Concordia International University in Estonia, from Concordia University Wisconsin, and from Old Dominion University in Norfolk.
Another young female Ieva Rucinskaite, who has worked at the EU affairs and international relations department of the Lithuanian Ministry of Agriculture and also helped during the election campaign, will be in charge of the Cabinet.
Simonas Krepsta, director of the Financial Stability Department at the Lithuanian central Bank, will lead the economic and social policy group. He has worked at the Bank since December 2008.
Povilas Maciulis, a former vice mayor of Kaunas, Lithuania’s second-largest city, will be in charge of the internal policy group. Earlier, he has supported diplomat Vygaudas Usackas, who also did run for the President, but ones lost he has joined Nauseda’s team.
Asta Skaisgiryte-Liauskiene, another female, will lead the foreign policy group. Skaisgiryte-Liauskiene has been working for the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1993 and has served as a vice minister and ambassador to France and the UK. Recently, she has served as the political director at the Ministry.
Jaroslav Neverovic, will lead the environment and infrastructure group. He has served as the Minister of Energy in 2012-2014, as delegated by the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania. Later, he has worked in the private business sector.
Jurate Soviene, a deputy chairman of the Lithuanian Competition Council, will lead the legal group.
The presidential communication group will be led by Aistis Zabarauskas who was also in charge of communications during election campaign. He worked as a journalist at the National radio and Television of Lithuania in 1996-2004 and was a project director at PR agency Integrity PR in 2004-2018.
President Gitanas Nauseda will name the head of the national security group later in July, as well as he has to pic a person to lead the education, science and culture group. This group is very important as he stressed the importance of culture and education during the election campaign. Also, the team members of different groups yet to be selected later during the year.
